Can you be S.E.E.N.?

This year I’ve spent a lot of time working to identify where the gap is in the fundraising world. As a donor relations practitioner, I started with what I do best, relationships! I’ve realized that throughout my career the area that seems to be the most challenging for organizations is building meaningful relationships. Organizations work so hard to develop a plan, work the plan, move the plan, that they forget the reason they started in the first place. This beautiful thing called, a mission! No matter what space you are in or size that you are, we all have a mission. This mission is driven by the community need that we evaluated and decided that it was time to find a solution. From that very moment we worked to rally individuals, organizations, companies, and a variety of community members to stand behind this advocacy. But then, what’s next? You have to keep going! You have to be S.E.E.N. so you can move your mission forward and amplify!

Through research and observation, I’ve determined that these four key areas are needed to lead to being S.E.E.N. and developing a deeper relationship with your community of advocates.

S. Are you being Strategic? Are we reaching our audience based on what we KNOW and setting clear attainable goals.

E. Are you Engaging your community? Providing timeliness in our stewardship and fundraising efforts keeps you at the forefront of the mind of the community you serve.

E. Are you Educating your community? Each time you or anyone at your organization is sharing with the community, it is important to educate the problem, the need, and the response.

N. Are you serving as a Network ? Your community want access! Build partnerships with your community. They want to feel that they are the link to your organization. YOUR biggest advocate.

So I ask you, can your mission of your organization be S.E.E.N.? If you feel like these above areas are frameworks that you would like to put into place, let’s have a strategy session! I’m dedicated to coaching you to amplify your mission!
